Parents or caregivers may find their child’s assessment scores from schools and/or private agencies to be all over the map. However, each assessment carries an underlying scientific theory of reading and writing. Detailed reports of test results from a multidisciplinary team can be bewildering and distressing to read. And when parents or caregivers look up information on the internet, it is very easy to slip into the rabbit hole. A restorative approach will sort out what information is important and determine where to start so that the child can begin to be seen as a thriving reader and writer.
