Pre-Meeting Survey for Parents

The comprehensive survey ensures a thoughtful, productive, and efficient initial meeting. You may email your answers and thoughts to these questions to restorativeliteracies / @ /

A gentle reminder: While Restorative Literacies is not a direct tutoring service, it can provide coaching on interpreting assessment reports completed by schools and/or outside agencies and the process of choosing a prescriptive reading program or tutoring services.

Please be sure to include your name, child’s first name, email address, a text number, and city/state.

How did you hear about Restorative Literacies?

What is your family’s story? (who lives with you, your cultures, languages, education, livelihood, or anything else you want to share)

What are your family’s literacies? (your values for reading and writing in education, work, church, civic, for pleasure and/or knowledge)

How does your child practice literacies at home, in school, and in the community?

What are your perceived strengths and weaknesses of your child’s reading and writing skills? (listening, speaking, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, spelling, handwriting, and word processing)

Share your thoughts about your child’s motivation, engagement, and identity as a reader and/or writer.

Does your child have a health issue or disability? Did your child or your family recently experienced trauma?

Has your child’s hearing and vision been fully checked? (not just screened)

Do you have a specific goal in mind for your child? (If not, we’ll pinpoint a goal together.)
