Many families are organizing micro-schools or pods as a collaborative solution toward a work-school-home balance in response to school closures as a result of COVID-19. Micro-schools or pods are usually small in size, multi-aged, and may include siblings, cousins, and friends. Children in a micro-school or pod may use combination of resources and technology, including public school online offerings. A designated “teacher,” usually a parent or caregiver, most often serve as guidance rather than as instructors. Restorative literacies can provide coaching and consult in developing a framework for micro-schools or pods so that all children involved are thriving readers and writers in their larger literacies communities.
